Located in a heavily wooded area of Berlin-Spandau, this property became available for redevelopment when the nearby hospital closed.
The two, long, existing 4-storey buildings had housed students and nurses. Erected in the 1960’s, they stood vacant for many years and had suffered irreversible damage.
It was decided to erect two new structures using the existing foundations. A prefabricated modular system was developed which would provide flexibility in the division of the buildings into a variety of flats and sizes in order to react to changes in the real estate market.
